10 world records set by Zhambyl athletes at the European and the Asian Powerlifting Championships

680 most famous athletes from Germany, France, Spain, and dozens from other countries came to Ekaterinburg to participate in an open Europe powerlifting Championships. And no one could even imagine that the unknown quartet of powerlifters from a small town in southern Kazakhstan would surprise and conquer experts and fans. A 28-year-old Ruslan Greyev, weight category up to 100 kg, has easily lifted 240 kg, 7.5 kg more than the world record. Ruslan Greyev has received an honorary cup for overall victory. Oreon Kim (75 kg) has won "gold" in clean and press and triathlon. Konstantin Kurashov (110 kg) is the winner in triathlon and the second place holder in clean and press. Junior Elina Ponomareva's benchpress showed the result of 55, the tugging - 135 kg. As a result she gains four European and four World records! Ruslan Greyev took gold and silver medals, Konstantin Kurashov - two gold medals, Oreon Kim - 1 gold and 1 silver awards, Nikolai Ponomarev received the medal of the highest standard. Sergey Shelest rises to the second step of the podium. Marianna Gasparyan received a gold medal and the title of the Asian Cup champion setting two world records. Elina Ponomareva won gold medal and four world records.
