1 killed, 5 injured in 16-car pile-up in Akmola region

A 28-year-old driver died, and five people more were injured in a 16-car pile-up as ice-slick and bad weather conditions grip Akmola region, Kazinform News Agency reports.
The accident occurred on December 29 on the 105th km of the Astana-Petropavlovsk highway, the police department said in a statement.
Those injured were rushed to the Akkol district hospital.
Three GAZelle vehicles, four trucks, and nine cars collided in a chain reaction.
