1.1mln sq m of housing to be commissioned this year in Almaty - Akim

ATY. August 7. KAZINFORM. /Daniyar Sikhimbayev/ "To date about 70,000 people are involved into the construction sector of Almaty economy", Akim of Almaty Akhmetzhan Yessimov has said in Almaty today.

According to him, 265 facilities including 107 houses and 158 socio-cultural facilities are under construction in Almaty at present. "1.1 million square meters of housing is planned to be commissioned this year. It is by 10% more than in 2008. Over the first half of 2009 KZT 16 billion was utilized within the state program of housing construction", the Akim said.

"In whole KZT 50.5 billion of budget funds is planned to be disbursed for the construction this year. Building of 80 kilometers of main utility networks, 3 schools, 1 hospital, 4 outpatient clinics and 3 kindergartens will be finished. 45 construction companies and 11 design institutes work on these facilities", he noted.

A. Yessimov also informed that the problems of 3,105 housing investors were solved last year. And 4,277 home owners will get apartments this year. 300 Almaty streets for the total amount of KZT 12 billion will be repaired this year within the framework of Road Map state program.
