TOTTORI. KAZINFORM - Some 1,000 people lined up at a new Starbucks coffee shop that opened Saturday in Japan's least populated prefecture of Tottori in western Japan.
Out of Japan's 47 prefectures, Tottori was the only one in which Starbucks Coffee Japan Ltd. did not have an outlet. People began to form a queue from around Friday noon at the shop near a train station in the prefectural capital, Tottori. About 150 people had gathered by midnight to camp out. "It tastes good. It's unlike any other coffee I know," said 19-year-old college student Atsushi Miyagawa who was first in line. A local coffee shop nearby gave away free mugs and offered a full refund if a customer said Starbucks' coffee tasted better. Source: Kyodo
