Zhandos Assanov of Kazakhstan named TÜRKPA Secretary General

He will enter upon his duties at the assembly on October 1, 2013 in line with the instruction of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries. Mr. Assanov used to hold the post of the head of the Kazakh Senate's administration.

The agreement on establishment of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries was signed in Istanbul in November 2008 during the 1^st conference of the heads of parliaments of Turkic speaking countries on the initiative of Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The TÜRKPA headquarters is located in Baku, Azerbaijan.
