Zhanaozen: Bloggers report on situation, day 3

ASTANA. December 26. KAZINFORM As earlier, on Saturday a group of well-known Kazakhstan's bloggers headed to Zhanaozen town.

The bloggers visited the local administration (akimat) located temporarily at the sports complex. The local authorities' work returned to normal place, the staff at work places, bloggers said via their official Twitter accounts. They had talks with the heads of gas, heat and electric power supply services. The head of the street cleaning company told about the 19 cars which were ruined, looted and burned during the mass riots.

Later the bloggers went to one of the supermarkets. According to them, the foodstuff prices slightly differ from Astana prices. For example, 10 eggs cost 200 tenge denying rumors that one chicken egg costs 2 dollars.

Then the bloggers visited a hospital to meet with the medical staff and patients, including those suffered from December 16 riots. 65 people were taken to hospital from the scene of the events. Blogger Zhomart Amirkhanov said, there is no shortage of medicaments at the hospital and drug-store.

According to blogger Sabina Sadenova, "all the people are worn-out. All the people at the akimat, police and hospital are silent, stressed and tired."

In the afternoon the bloggers are scheduled to meet with Zhanaozen commandant A. Kabylov.
