Zhamilya Bakbergenova pockets silver at Seniors World Championships in Tirana
Kazakh wrestler Zhamilya Bakbergenova (72kg) participated in the final of the Seniors World Wrestling Championships - Non-Olympic Weight Categories in Tirana (Albania), Kazinform News Agency reports citing Sports.kz.
In the women's 72kg semifinal, she was defeated by Japanese Ami Ishii with a score of 6:8.
Thus, Ami Ishii grabbed gold, while the Kazakh athlete secured the silver medal at the Seniours World Wrestling Championships - Non-Olympic Weight Categories.
It is noteworthy that in the United World Wrestling (UWW) 72kg ranking, Bakbergenova occupies the top position, while Ishii is placed 14th.
It bears to remind that Zhamilya Bakbergenova defeated Mongolian wrestler Bolortungalag Zorigt in the women's 72kg semifinal with a score of 8:6.
Earlier, Zhamilya Bakbergenova claimed gold in the women’s 72kg at the 2024 Budapest Ranking Series.
