Yanukovich wins the presidential elections in Ukraine - the central election comission

KIEV. February 10. KAZINFORM The Ukrainian Central Election Commission announced the election results, after 100% of electronic protocols from the district election committees had been counted; Kazinform refers to ITAR-TASS.

The leader of the Party of Regions Viktor Yanukovich was elected Ukraine's president gaining 48.95% of votes in the second round of the presidential elections, while Yulia Timoshenko polled 45.47% of votes, the press service of the Ukrainian Central Election Commission reported on Wednesday.

The gap between Yanukovich and Timoshenko has made 3.48% or 888,000 votes. Some 4.36% of voters did not support any candidate; Kazinform cites ITAR-TASS.
