Xinjiang welcomed Student Festival of Kazakh Culture and Arts

BEIJING. January 7. KAZINFORM /Russlan Suleimenov/ The III Student Festival of Kazakh Culture and Arts "Aytys" opened in the Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China.
It brought together well-known akyns (improvising poets and signers in Kazakh culture) of Kuytun city and students studying aytys arts (improvising in the form of a song-like recitative) at the Ili Teacher's Training Institute.
In 2008 Kazakh aytys was included in the intangible heritage list of Xinjiang.
