WTO: Kazakhstan accomplished bilateral talks with Salvador
ASTANA. November 25. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan has completed bilateral talks with the Republic of Salvador on accession to the World Trade Organization and signed a Protocol. From the Kazakh side the document was signed by Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Special Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhanar Aitzhanova and from the side of Salvador - by Permanent Representative of the country to the WTO Francisco Lima Mena, Kazinform cites the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
The Republic of Salvador has become the 25th of 26 member states of the Working Group on Kazakhstan's WTO accession.
Three rounds of talks were held in whole during which the parties discussed the levels of customs duties to be applied by Kazakhstan after it joins the WTO regarding the goods representing economic interest for Salvador. The sides focused also on the customs duties for saltwater and ocean fish, seafood, honey, tropical fruits, coffee etc. Currently Salvador is one of the main suppliers of coffee to the Kazakh markets.
At a meeting with Director General of the World Trade Organization Pascal Lamy Kazakh Minister Z. Aitzhanova noted dynamic development of the talks on Kazakhstan's membership in the WTO.
