Writer Murakami to release book of answers to readers' questions
TOKYO. KAZINFORM - Shinchosha Publishing Co. says it plans to publish in late July a book compiling Japanese writer Haruki Murakami's answers to questions from some of his readers made available on his fixed-term website.
The book titled "Murakami-san no Tokoro" (The Place of Mr. Murakami) will cover 400 to 500 questions and his answers to them. It will sell for 1,404 yen. Murakami has so far given answers to some 3,300 out of 37,465 questions sent from readers by e-mail to his website. The topics he has answered range from music and films to the March 2011 Fukushima nuclear plant disaster and Japanese politics. The publisher will also offer a "complete version" electronic book covering more than 3,000 questions and his answers to them, the first online work by Murakami in Japan. Murakami's website was opened Jan. 15 and updated every day through Thursday and will remain open until May 13. Source: Kyodo
