World to address security issues at Munich conference
MUNICH. February 5. KAZINFORM World leaders and diplomats gather here on Friday to discuss major global security issues at the 46th Munich Security Conference (MSC), Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
The annual event, dubbed the "Davos of security policy", will address the Afghan issue, Middle East stability, global energy security, arms control, the world power shift and future-oriented NATO strategy.
MSC chairman Wolfgang Ischinger said, while trans-Atlantic relations would remain a keynote of the meeting, the growing role of Asia in addressing global security challenges would also be taken into consideration.
Meanwhile, the German veteran diplomat has called on world leaders to act instantly to fulfill the promises they made in last year's meeting. "2010 shall be marked by action," he said.
