The match at East Rutherford, New Jersey, ended with both teams sharing the points.

Morocco opened the scoring in the 21st minute. Brahim Díaz set up Ismael Saibari with a precise pass, and the midfielder elegantly lobbed the ball over Brazil's advancing goalkeeper, Alisson.

Brazil quickly restored parity. In the 32nd minute, Vinícius Jr. received a pass from Bruno Guimarães on the left wing, cut inside, and fired a powerful shot past goalkeeper Yassine Bounou. The goal came on Vinícius's 50th appearance for the national team.

Before halftime, Lucas Paquetá could have put Brazil ahead, but the Moroccan goalkeeper saved his shot. In the second half, Bounou once again denied Brazil after a dangerous attack involving Vinícius and Raphinha.

Morocco also had chances to win. In stoppage time, Alisson first saved a long-range effort from Neil El Aynaoui and then blocked Ayoube Amaimouni’s follow-up attempt.

After the first round of matches, both teams have one point in Group C. Later in the group, Haiti and Scotland will meet.

In the next round, Brazil will face Haiti, while Morocco will take on Scotland.

As reported earlier, U.S. opened World Cup with 4-1 win over Paraguay.
