Workshop on presidency of Kazakhstan in OSCE and Spain in EU held in Madrid
ASTANA. July 9. KAZINFORM Workshop on the issues of Kazakhstan's OSCE presidency and Spain's presidency in the EU with participation of Spanish political experts, parliamentarians, representatives of state bodies and NGOs, diplomatic corpse was held in Madrid, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry reports.
Several reports on results of the chairmanships of two countries were listened to at the workshop. The participants complemented the efforts of the Kazakh Government on finding compromise and promotion of mutual understanding between the OSCE member states and the initiatives of President N.Nazarbayev on organization of the OSCE Summit.
Special attention was paid to the situation in Kyrgyzstan. Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office on Election Observation Mechanisms Jesús López-Medel who was a member of the observation mission during the constitutional referendum on June 27 in Kyrgyzstan informed on the process of referendum and emphasized absence of excesses both in Bishkek and south regions of the country.
Ambassador Yergali Bulegenov briefed the participants of the workshop on the position of Astana in settlement of the conflicts in Kyrgyzstan and attracted attention to the close cooperation between Kazakhstan and Spain chaired the EU.
