Work of Kazakh, Dutch human rights institutions discussed in Astana
ASTANA. August 27. KAZINFORM Human Rights Commissioner of Kazakhstan Askar Shakirov met with member of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Dutch MPs Coskun Coruz on Monday in Astana, according to the press service of the Kazakh Ombudsman.
The sides exchanged experience of human rights activities of the Netherlands and Kazakhstan, discussed common issues of functioning of ombudsman institutes in the two countries.
A.Shakirov informed the guest of the main activities of the national human rights institution focusing on the most important issues.
C. Coruz touched upon the issues of interaction of the state bodies and non-governmental organizations to ensure the rights of citizens and praised the role of the mediator, which is administered by an institution of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan in the process.
