Women’s Organizations of Kazakhstan unite in Alliance

ATY. September 3. KAZINFORM /Aigul Turysbekova/ "The instruction of the Head of the State on the necessity of adoption of the Law on gender equality and on prevention of domestic violence can be regarded as a big victory of NGOs and the National Commission for Women affairs and Family-Demographic Policy under the President of Kazakhstan", representatives of the Alliance of Women's Organizations of Kazakhstan Thursday in Almaty.

According to them, the discussions on the necessity of adoption of the Law are held within last years. "The oncoming Kazakhstan's OSCE chairmanship in 2010 is a great opportunity for realization of the gender equality in the country", chairman of the Alliance Raushan Sarsenbayeva said.

The Alliance is a union of legal bodies. 18 women's NGO are among its members.
