Woman allegedly beaten to death by her son in Almaty rgn

TALDYKORGAN. January 6. KAZINFORM A 57-year-old man was arrested on Friday on suspicion that he beat his mother to death at her home in Karatal district of Almaty region in drunken stupor.
The 89-year-old woman was admitted to a local hospital; doctors fought to save her life for three days. Unfortunately, the elderly woman did not make it. The medical examiner's office ruled the death a homicide caused by blunt force head trauma without the use of a weapon.
The police say the suspect admitted to the murder. The case remains under investigation.
