Without joining European conventions it's hard to combat terrorism - I. Merkel

TANA. November 24. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ In the fight against terrorism we insist on the accession to the European conventions in the field of justice, First Deputy Chairman of Kazakh Prosecutor General Iogan Merkel said on Thursday.
"Without this, it is very difficult to combat terrorism - our criminals are free to go to Europe, but without a contractual basis, we can not extradite them to serve their sentences in Kazakhstan," he noted.
According to Merkel, all European countries must agree on Kazakhstan's accession to these conventions, and this is a long process.
