Winter storm targets most regions of Kazakhstan
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Most regions of Kazakhstan are preparing for Monday storm as Kazhydromet, Kazakhstan's national forecaster, has issued storm alert.
The mercury will drop below -30°C in Astana city as well as South Kazakhstan, Zhambyl and Almaty regions. Things will get even worse in Karaganda and East Kazakhstan regions on Tuesday where temperatures will drop to -35°C. Inclement weather will persist in most regions of the country. Snow storm, bleak wind, fog and sleet are expected in southeastern Kazakhstan. Only south and east of the country will have weather without precipitation. Wind will strengthen up to 23 meters per second in Akmola, East Kazakhstan, Pavlodar, North Kazakhstan, Kostanay, Almaty, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda, Mangystau, Atyrau and South Kazakhstan regions.
