Winners of international Olympiads honored in Aktobe

AKTOBE. February 11. KAZINFORM. /Samal Yendibayeva/ The ceremony of honoring the laureates of the international Olympiads and scientific competitions of the academic year 2008-2009, prize winners of the First Presidential Olympiad–2008 and teachers who trained the laureates has taken place in the Aktobe regional akimat today.
Head of the regional education department Amangeldy Kudaibergenov congratulated students and teachers on their achievements. Making a speech he noted that Aktobe region established itself as a leader in Kazakhstan by many indicators including the intellectual potential.
Last year 24 students from Aktobe were awarded 27 prizes, most of them are the students of the Kazakh-Turkish lyceum. They won 11 gold, 9 silver and 7 bronze medals in the fields of mathematics, physics, informatics and chemistry.
Two teachers of the Kazakh-Turkish lyceum B. Bissekenov and A. Tor received letters of gratitude. Their students S. Orazbayev and Z. Zhetibayev won in the Presidential Olympiad ? 2008.
