WHO: Kazakhstan has low donor activity

ASTANA. January 16. KAZINFORM - The World Health Organization (WHO) considers Kazakhstan as country with low donor activity.
Saniya Abdrakhmanova, Deputy Director of the Research and Development Center for Transfusion: "According to WHO recommendation for self-sufficiency in blood components there should be 40-60 blood donations for 1000 people. Astana has 58. But in the country on the whole the figure is 17-18".
However, she stressed that the deficiency of blood in the country is not observed.
