According to a study from the travel comparison website Kayak.com, a night in a five-star hotel costs a mere €104 on average in Warsaw (Poland).
To live like royalty without emptying your bank account, travelers may consider forgoing the well-known capitals and seeking out European destinations that are less overrun by tourists. Five-star accommodations are available for less than €130 per night in Warsaw, Thessaloniki (Greece), Bucharest (Romania) and even Athens, Relaxnews reports. On the opposite end of the spectrum, unsurprisingly, the most popular European destinations dominate the ranking of cities with the highest average rates at five-star properties. London emerges as the city with the most expensive luxury hotels, with an average price of €397, followed closely by Florence and Paris, where travelers pay around €396 and €370 respectively for a night at one of the most prestigious establishments.
