We strive to continue consistent development of Kazakh-U.S. relations - Dan Burton

ASTANA. July 2. KAZINFORM Today Kazakh Senate Speaker Kairat Mami met with delegation of the U.S. Congress headed by Chairman of the Subcommittee on Europe and Eurasia of the U.S. House of Representatives' Committee on Foreign Affairs Dan Burton, the press service of the Kazakh Senate reported.

K. Mami noted the importance of this visit which is "continuation of the heart-warming traditions of interparliamentary ties."

According to Mami, interaction within the Friends of Kazakhstan Caucus promotes strengthening of cooperation between the supreme legislative bodies of the two countries.

"Development of Kazakh-American relations is a priority in the foreign policy of Kazakhstan," K. Mami said and noted the dynamics of Kazakh-American partnership in the sphere of enhancement of regional and international security, sustainable development, nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation.

"We are striving to continue consistent development of Kazakh-U.S. relations," said the head of American delegation.

D. Barton thanked the Kazakh side for the contribution to nuclear disarmament and nonproliferation and efforts on Afghanistan's rehabilitation.
