It will be chaired by Kazakh Minister of Oil and Gas Sauat Mynbayev and U.S. Deputy Secretary of Energy Daniel Poneman, the press service of the Kazakh Embassy in the United States said.

For two days, the parties will determine the direction of further joint work in four areas: nuclear industry and non-proliferation issues, hydrocarbon energy, electricity, renewable energy and energy efficiency.

The result of the meeting in Washington is expected to be the adoption of the Joint Action Plan of Kazakhstan and the United States for the implementation of energy partnership in these areas for 2012-2013 based on the successful experience in implementing a similar plan adopted at the previous Commission meeting in Astana in 2011.

As D.Ponema said earlier, "since gaining independence Kazakhstan has conducted important macroeconomic reforms that attracted major international investment in mining, chemical, and agricultural industries. We expect to see new investments in other areas in the coming years, both in the energy sector and outside it."
