Wages and employment up in Zhambyl region

An average monthly salary in the Zhambyl region has increased by 8.5%, reaching 279.6 thousand tenge, akim (governor) of the Zhambyl region, Yerbol Karashukeyev highlighted at a briefing at the Central Communications Service under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency reports..

“This year, 46.3 billion tenge has been allocated for the social sphere, which is 1.3 times more than last year. In accordance with the directives of the Head of State to create 100 new jobs per 10,000 population by supporting new initiatives of entrepreneurial activity, the objective of 8.8 thousand jobs has been surpassed, with over 10 thousand jobs created. In addition, about 60,000 jobs have been created within the framework of the regional employment map in the region, 42 thousand of them permanent,” governor Karashukeyev said.

The governor stated that 47,063 individuals are currently receiving assistance through active employment initiatives, including 2,200 individuals with disabilities. The regional unemployment rate is 4.8%.

Karashukeyev also underlined that the average monthly salary in the region increased by 8.5%, reaching a total of 279.6 thousand tenge. In order to implement this increase, 26.8 billion tenge of budget funds have been allocated, with the objective of raising the salaries of 35.4 thousand civil servants by 26%. Also, the government has outlined a plan to create 68,000 jobs by 2025, with 42,000 of these being permanent jobs.
