Wage gap between domestic and foreign workers revealed in 51 Kazakh companies
ASTANA. March 28. KAZINFORM The facts of wage disparities between domestic and foreign workers have been revealed in more than 50 Kazakh companies, official spokesman of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection Yernur Burakhan told a briefing on Thursday.
"State inspectors together with prosecution agencies carried out 190 unscheduled inspections over the past two months. As a result, 108 facts of wage disparities were revealed in 51 companies, of which 6 are Kazakhstani and 45 with foreign participation," he said.
Burakhan noted the most part of foreign workers are involved in the construction industry - 44.3%, mining sector - 16.3%, service sector - 11.3%, processing industry - 9.8%.
So, most facts of disparities were found among workers from China, followed by Turkey, Italy, India, Korea, and the UK. The least amount of disproportion relates to the workers from Romania, Australia, Belarus, Venezuela and the Philippines.
