2026 Qurultay elections: Voting underway in Jordan
Polling station No. 442 opened at 7:00 local time (09:00 Astana time) in the capital of Jordan, Qazinform News Agency reports.
According to the territorial election commission, all Kazakh citizens permanently or temporarily residing in Jordan with valid passports or identity cards are eligible to vote. The majority of Kazakhstanis in Jordan are students, compatriots married to Jordanian citizens, as well as diplomats and their families. A total of 46 voters have been included on the electoral list.
The polling station is located at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Amman, at 99 Cairo Street.
Commission chairman Berik Tulendiev noted the high level of organizational readiness.
“The polling station opened at 7 a.m., with about fifty Kazakhstanis registered on the voter list, most of them on consular register. Voting is ongoing in a routine mode,” he said.
Sunday is a working day in Jordan and several other Middle Eastern countries, yet highvoter activity has been observed since early morning.
Earlier, it was reported that 79 polling stations are operating abroad at Kazakhstan's diplomatic missions in 61 countries. Polling stations in Japan and South Korea were among those that opened at 3:00 a.m. Astana time.
The last polling station to open will be the one at the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in San Francisco, which will open at 7:00 p.m. Astana time.
