Volskswagen driver breathes his last, and five traumatized on Balkhash-Karaganda highway
KARAGANDA. August 14. KAZINFORM In Karaganda region on "Balkhash-Karaganda" road there took place a head-on collision of "Volkswagen Passat" and "Audi-80" cars. That crash left one person dead and five injured, the press service of the regional Department of Internal Affairs says.
According to the road police, the accident occurred on early morning of August 13 on "Balkhash-Karaganda" highway near the roadside motel "Virage", which is 2 km from the village of Kurma.
"62-year-old driver of "Volkswagen Passat", moving in the direction of Balkhash, unable to cope with the steering control, drove into the oncoming lane and made a head-on collision with a motor vehicle "Audi-80" with a 27-year-old resident of Shetsk district at the wheel. As a result of the crash "Volkswagen Passat" driver died from his injuries on the spot, " the statement reads.
To the hospital were taken a 24-year-old girl, a passenger of "Volkswagen", and a 23-year-old girl, a sitter of "Audi". In addition, on-site medical assistance was provided to two more passengers from "Volkswagen": a 32-year-old woman, a 14-year-old girl and the driver of "Audi".
"According to that actual fact the legal proceedings have started, and there is investigation going on," adds the press service of the Internal Affairs Department in the area.
