Vienna hosts annual Qurultay of European Kazakhs
VIENNA. May 22. KAZINFORM /Timur Bekturganov/ The annual Qurultay (congress) of the Kazakhs of Europe is the largest event in life of our compatriots living in European countries. This year the Qurultay is held on May 21-23 in Vienna under the support of Kazakhstan Embassy in Austria.
Prominent figures of the Kazakh diaspora living in Austria, Germany, Great Britain, Switzerland, Denmark, France, Norway, the Netherlands and Turkey as well as officials of Austria have gathered for the event. An exposition of Abai Kazakh-Austrian society, meetings of the Federation of the European Kazakhs, a football tournament and a concert of masters of art of Kazakhstan are planned to be held within the Qurultay.
The Qurultay itself will take place on May 23 at the ceremonial hall of the Mayor's Office of Vienna. Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Austria Yerzhan Kazykhanov, Deputy Head of the World Association of Kazakhs Talgat Mamashev, Head of the European Kazakhs Federation Kayum Kesici, Leader of the Kazakh diaspora in Austria Kazyrkhan Sholpan are attending the congress.
