Vice President of European Commission to pay visit to Astana
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Vice President of the European Commission for the Energy Union Maroš Šefčovič is set to pay his first official visit to Kazakhstan tomorrow (November 27). Šefčovič will come to Astana to participate in the 25th session of the Conference of the Energy Charter.
He is to deliver a keynote speech at the plenary session "Development of transit corridors - key to global energy security". It is worth mentioning that Kazakhstan became the first country to be elected as the chair of the Energy Charter Conference in accordance with the new format of the organization adopted in early 2014. Šefčovič will also meet with Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov, Minister of Energy Vladimir Shkolnik and Minister of Foreign Affairs Yerlan Idrissov on the sidelines of the conference. Kazakhstan is expected to pass the chairmanship to Georgia in 2015.
