VI meeting of CSTO Coordinating Board for Emergency takes place in Belarus

ASTANA. July17. KAZINFORM - A delegation of Emergency Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in the sixth meeting of Coordinating Council on Emergency of the Collective Security Treaty Organization's (CCES CSTO) member states, which was carried out in Belarusian city of Gomel, the press service of the Ministry reports.

The event was attended by Nikolai Bordyuzha, CSTO Secretary General, and management of CSTO member states' Emergency departments.

The meeting discussed issues on the implementation of Regulations on the CSTO response to extremal situations. The participants also talked about the queries of creating CSTO single informational-program space. In addition, there was considered the draft work plan for collective response to emergencies development.

"In order to protect territorial and economic space from emergency situations of natural and man-made nature, rescue units of CSTO member states have been holding joint exercises which involve the management and staff of the organization's Secretariat, operational teams and rescue units", said the agency .

"Rock city-Astana" training field in 2011 was assigned a status of basic international polygon for CSTO by Emergency Ministry of Kazakhstan.
