VI Congress of Judges kicks off in Astana
ASTANA. November 20. KAZINFORM - In the Palace of Independence has began the VI Congress of Judges of Kazakhstan with the participation of the President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
The forum was organized by the Supreme Court and the Union of Judges of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The following issues are on the agenda - summing up the results on the implementation of the tasks set by the Head of State during the V Congress of Judges (2009), discussion of current issues of legal proceedings, defining the role of the judiciary in Kazakhstan's access to the top thirty of the developed countries.
The congress' delegates are the judges from all regions of Kazakhstan. The forum participants will discuss the issues of judicial independence, further improvement of the judicial system, the role of courts in the development of human rights mechanisms, the openness and accessibility of justice and enhancement of professional and moral level of judicial personnel.
Among the guests are the leaders and judges of the Supreme Courts of Russia, Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan. The event is also being attended by the representatives of the far abroad countries, in particular, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Germany. The forum gathered the members of the OSCE, UNDP, the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Kazakhstan as well as judges of the Economic Court of the CIS and the EurAsEC Court.
