Uzbekistan starts selling canned pilaf

TASHKENT. KAZINFORM - Canned "Pilaf Tashkent" is now available on the shelves of grocery stores in the capital city of Uzbekistan.

Producers of the product say canned pilaf does not contain food preservatives but can be stored for a long time and has the same taste as standard pilaf. The dish comes in cans of 670 grams and 335 grams, and costs $9 and $5 respectively, AKI Press informs. An average cost of a portion of pilaf (300 grams) in Tashkent cafes is about $3. The canned pilaf called great interest among the citizens who were willing to send the product abroad to friends or relatives, the local media say.
