The draft law aims at prohibiting sale of electronic nicotine delivery systems, including e-cigarettes and liquids for them.

“Experts say that apart from nicotine, e-cigarettes contain 80 various carcinogenic and toxic chemical compounds and heavy metals, which inflict serious damage on human health and environment. In particular, with growing nicotine addiction, this may lead to the development of brain pathologies and cognitive decline in children and teenagers. The adoption of the document will help popularize healthy life style among the population, especially among youth,” a statement from the Uzbek Parliament reads.

The document stipulates responsibility for the wrongdoings related to the illegal sale of smokeless tobacco products and nicotine consumption devices, including e-cigarettes.

Earlier, it was reported that Kyrgyzstan plans to ban vapes and e-cigarettes from 2025
