Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan strengthen bilateral cooperation through parliamentary dialogue

Kazakhstan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan Yeraly Tugzhanov visited the Senate of Uzbekistan’s Oliy Majlis, where he met with Senate Chairperson Tanzila Narbayeva, Qazinform News Agency cites UzA.

The meeting focused on ways to expand bilateral ties, focusing on stronger inter-parliamentary cooperation and growth in political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian relations.

The sides noted that the close relations between the presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have contributed to strengthening the countries’ good-neighborly and fraternal ties.

The officials also highlighted growing cooperation between the two parliaments, including the exchange of experience in lawmaking, parliamentary oversight, cooperation with local authorities, implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, anti-corruption efforts and gender equality.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on Kazakhstan’s constitutional reforms and its new parliamentary model.

Earlier, Qazinform reported Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan had exchanged experiences in judicial system development.
