Representatives from both nations, comprising government officials, entrepreneurs, and business associations, attended the conference, resulting in contracts across 13 areas of cooperation. These agreements encompass the supply of wheat flour, cement, oil products, pasta, and fresh fruits and vegetables.

These agreements were concluded amidst escalating trade and transit bottlenecks for Afghanistan, driven by border tensions with Pakistan and instability in the Middle East.

Afghanistan’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, Nooruddin Aziz, emphasized that economic engagement between Kabul and Tashkent has accelerated significantly in recent months. He noted that Afghanistan remains committed to fostering regional trade and improving the climate for international investors.

The forum participants reported that the total volume of agreements signed between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan has already exceeded 1.5 billion US dollars.
