As the statement reads, "the people of Uzbekistan express deep concern and alarm over the riots in southern regions of Kyrgyzstan, namely in Osh town".

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan notes: "There is every reason to think that the riots pursue just one aim - to provoke inter-ethnic confrontation, create intolerable conditions for the national minorities living in the southern regions of the country. We have no doubt that all of these took place under instigation of the forces which interests are far from the interests of the Kyrgyz nation".

"The situation in Osh in no way meets traditional, centuries-long friendly relations and cooperation among the representatives of all nations and ethnic groups living in Kyrgyzstan. We express confidence that the people of Kyrgyzstan and its forces have enough wisdom and life experience to stop crimes and riots in order to stabilize the situation in the country and ensure peaceful and safe future of the multinational people of Kyrgyzstan", the statement reads.
