Uzbek man called in bomb threat at Shymkent station to take revenge
SHYMKENT. KAZINFORM - Al-Farabi district court sentenced Sarsenbek Ibragimov to 3 years in a penal colony for reporting the bomb at the railway station of Shymkent.
As earlier reported, on February 3 an anonymous called police saying that a bomb was planted at the railway station. As a result of an alleged bomb threat, 500 people were evacuated. No explosive device was found at the railway station. His guilt was proved by the call details made from his cell phone and testimonies of witnesses whom the convict told about the act. In the court Sarsenbek Ibragimov explained his behavior as peculiar revenge. Being a citizen of Uzbekistan two years ago he illegally crossed the Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan border. For several times he appealed to the Kazakh Migration Police for getting Kazakhstan's citizenship. However, he was repeatedly denied, as he crossed the border illegally. After another failure, he took alcohol and called police.
