US Sec of State expressed gratitude for Kazakh President's efforts on stabilizing Kyrgyzstan

ASTANA. April 26. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton expressed gratitude for the Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev's efforts on stabilization of the situation in Kyrgyzstan. Official Representative of Kazakh Foreign Ministry Askar Abdrakhmanov has made it public at a briefing in Astana today.

According to him, on April 25 Kazakh Secretary of State - Foreign Minister Kanat Saudabayev held a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The parties discussed a wide array of topics regarding bilateral relations, regional security and interaction within the framework of the OSCE. They noted that the recent talks between Nursultan Nazarbayev and Barack Obama in Washington gave additional impulse to the strategic partnership of the two states.

As for the situation in Kyrgyzstan, H. Clinton confirmed the US intention to continue close interaction within the framework of the OSCE in relieving the political crisis and ensuring stability in that country.

Besides, K. Saudabayev and H. Clinton exchanged opinions on the progress of preparation for the OSCE informal summit planned for July 16-17 in Almaty.
