US President’s idea on contact group on Afghanistan and Pakistan of big interest for Kazakhstan
ASTANA. June 25. KAZINFORM /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ "The idea of US President Barack Obama on the establishment of a contact group on Afghanistan and Pakistan is of special interest for Kazakhstan", Vice Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan Bolat Sembinov has said today at the EAPC Security Forum in Astana.
"It is obvious that the USA new action strategy in regard to Afghanistan and Pakistan will become the basic tool of stabilization of the situation in the region", he said.
The Kazakh Vice Minister noted that Kazakhstan is interested in economic and political stability in Afghanistan. Our country affords its air space for coalition and partners' aircrafts flights within "Enduring Freedom" operation. In accordance with the Governmental program of assistance to Afghanistan for 2007-2008, USD 3 mln were allocated for construction of a road, a school, a hospital and wheat supply to the country.
