US expert in labor force education to visit Kazakhstan
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - U.S. Visiting Speaker Program of Timothy W. Lawrence, Executive Director of SkillsUSA, will arrive in Kazakhstan on September 29 - October 7, U.S. Diplomatic Mission to Kazakhstan said.
SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers, and industry representatives working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. It serves over 320,000 high school, university, and vocational students enrolled in training programs in technical, skilled, and service occupations.
Mr. Lawrence also serves on the National Safety Council's Youth Division, Students Against Drunk Driving, and the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council. He was named the National Trade and Industrial Education Teacher of the Year in 1983, Kazinform refers to AKI Press.
Mr. Lawrence will speak on such topics as the global need for a highly skilled workforce, the optimization of career and technical education administration, and industry credentials for qualified workers in fields including but not limited to construction, energy, manufacturing, power generation, and transportation.
He will speak in Astana, Almaty, Oskemen, Semey, and Ekibastuz.
