URGENT: Karaganda mine suspended after fatal accident

KARAGANDA. April 20. KAZINFORM "Kazakhstankaya" coal mine of JSC "ArcelorMittal Temirtau" has been suspended for a day because of the fatal accident that occurred this morning, the JSC's press service reported.
"In memory of the killed miner it was decided to suspend the work of "Kazakhstanskaya" mine for the day. In addition, there will be held additional mine safety training for employees," ArcelorMittal Temirtau said.
According to the regional department of emergency situations, at the time of the accident there were 343 people in the mine, of whom 342 were brought to the surface. At 9.55 a.m. rescuers recovered the body of one miner.
