Ural Mukhamedzhanov, Jean-René Germanier debated interparliamentary coop issues
TANA. October 18. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Chairman of the Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Ural Mukhamedzhanov met with President of the National Council of the Parliament of Switzerland Jean-René Germanier, the Majilis' press service reports.
Kazakh Speaker congratulated Jean-René Germanier on holding the 125th Assembly of the Interparliamentary Union in Bern.
"Switzerland enjoys high international authority and great experience in rendering economic and humanitarian assistance to poor countries. In this regard, we rely on Switzerland's support to Kazakhstani initiatives aimed at solution of economic and humanitarian problems through international institutions and organizations," Mukhamedzhanov told.
The Speaker also said, it is crucial to intensify interparliamentary cooperation between the two countries. Kazakh parliamentarians are interested in unique practice of Swiss parliamentary system.
Majilis Chairman invited Swiss parliamentary delegation to pay a friendly visit to Kazakhstan during solemn celebrations of the 20th anniversary of the country's independence.
