Universal construction code to be drawn up in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. August 9. KAZINFORM First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Regional Development of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev has urged to optimize the construction norms in the country.

"Excessive details, contradictions, that needs to be gone. We need to upgrade the construction norms. But this should be done in a way not to hurt quality," Minister Sagintayev said at the Friday meeting.

He instructed to draw up specific proposals to be submitted to the Government in a month.

"Perhaps, a universal construction code is a good idea," Mr. Sagintayev added. In his words, it would allow to examine all specialists in the construction industry, test their knowledge of the craft.
