"Taking into account the fact that he (Mironov) represents the legislative assembly of St.Petersburg, where we have a majority, I believe it logical and expedient, after consulting with our colleagues from the Legislative Assembly of the northern capital, to begin the procedure of recalling Sergei Mikhailovich (Mironov)," head of the Central Executive committee of United Russia Andrei Vorobyev stated on Wednesday, in defense of the ruling party leader.

For his part, Secretary of the Presidium of the party's General Council Vyacheslav Volodin stated that United Russia was indignant over statements by the Federation Council speaker, leader of the Just Russia party.

In his opinion, Mironov's statements show "dishonesty and inconsistency toward Vladimir Putin - the person who has done much for the country and the society."

The sharp criticism by United Russia followed a number of statements Mironov made on Vladimir Pozner's program. Mironov, who leads the Opposition party "Just Russia," said "I've always said I support Vladimir Putin. For example, we, our party, support his foreign policy, and certain decisions in home policy. But we categorically oppose the budget proposed by Vladimir Putin, that is why we voted against it. We disagree with the anti-crisis measures proposed by Vladimir Putin, and therefore we offered our own anticrisis plan. Therefore, to say that we and I personally support Vladimir Putin in everything is obsolete information", Kazinform cites RIA Novosti. See www.en.rian.ru
