Unemployment rate made 6.3% last year - Kazakh Economy Minister
ASTANA. February 9. KAZINFORM. The rate of unemployment made 6.3% in 2009. Kazakh Minister of Economy and Budget Planning B. Sultanov has informed about it at the Government's sitting today.
He noted that despite difficult economic conditions of 2009 Kazakhstan managed to preserve social stability. All commitments taken by the Government in the social sphere were fully implemented.
The size of pensions and wages for budget employees were increased on average by 25%. Over 11 months of 2009 per capita real income of the population grew by 4.6%. Average monthly wage in the whole economy made KZT 66,000.
Minister Sultanov also noted that due to realization of Road Map program nearly 400,000 jobs were created. It helped prevent unemployment rising.
