UN supports Kazakhstan’s initiative on Congress of religious leaders: UN Deputy Secretary General
ASTANA. July 1. KAZINFORM /Valentina Yelizarova/ "The Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions is very important event not only for Kazakhstan", UN Secretary Deputy General Sergei Ordzhonikidze has said today at the press conference.
"The interconfessional dialogue is very important and it is necessary to extend it", the UN Deputy Secretary General said.
"The UN supports the initiative of Kazakhstan and its President in strengthening of the interconfessional accord through such congresses. It is necessary to involve other representatives of the world community in the dialogue", S.Ordzhanikidze said.
"I believe, we will find those fields and forms we it is necessary to cooperate and develop the imitative. Moreover, it will be possible to transfer from religious dialogue to cooperation with civil society and business community, as long as many NGOs work in this field as well", the Deputy Secretary General said.
