UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon thanks Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev for his professionalism

Mr. Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev wrote on his official Twitter account that the UN Secretary-General thanked him for professionalism, cooperation and friendship.

Tokayev expressed his gratitude to all the people he had worked with during his tenure at the UN Office at Geneva. The Swiss authorities announced the upcoming grand ball of the Geneva Opera Pool will be dedicated to Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev.

On March 11, 2011, UN Secretary-General announced the appointment of Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev as the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

As reported earlier, the Senate plenary session on Wednesday (October 16) unanimously supported Mr. Tokayev's candidacy, suggested by President Nazarbayev, as the new Senate Speaker.
