UN, Kazakhstan eye cooperation in human rights and freedoms

ASTANA. May 5. KAZINFORM Chairman of the Constitutional Council of Kazakhstan Igor Rogov received Regional Representative of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in Central Asia Armen Harutyunyan the other day, the council's press service reports.
At the meeting the sides exchanged views on the state and prospects for cooperation between the United Nations and Kazakhstan in human rights and freedoms.
Mr. Rogov briefed his guest on the activity of the Constitutional Council and basic directions of the state policy of Kazakhstan in the field of modernization of the national law-enforcement system.
