UN headquarters to be closed on Monday due to blizzard

UNITED NATIONS. December 27. KAZINFORM The UN Headquarters will be closed on Monday due to a winter storm that blanketed New York and other places along the U.S. East Coast on Sunday. Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
"Due to inclement weather, the United Nations Headquarters complex in New York will be closed on Monday, 27th December 2010. All meetings at Headquarters have been cancelled," reads a UN staff emergency hotline message late Sunday. A similiar notice was posted on the UN website.
The storm has been ravaging New York region since earlier Sunday with barrages of wind-driven snow, forcing airports to close while disrupting rail and highway travel. Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.xinhuanet.com for full version
